Tariq Ahmad serves as the Assistant Director of NIL Operations for Oklahoma Athletics. In this role, he supports the Executive Associate Athletic Director for NIL and Operational Advancement in coordinating the university’s Name, Image and Likeness operations. Ahmad helps organize the infrastructure for managing NIL deals, assists with recruitment and retention initiatives and collaborates with marketing, creative content, sponsorship and development teams to maximize NIL opportunities for student-athletes. He also ensures NIL operations remain compliant with university policies and NCAA and conference regulations.
Before joining Oklahoma, Ahmad founded Sports Court Consulting, where he served as CEO from 2023 to 2025. Through the agency, he led NIL education, personal branding and sports marketing initiatives for collegiate student-athletes. He helped facilitate more than 50 brand partnerships and developed the Sports Court NIL Newsletter, which achieved a 55 percent open rate. Ahmad also created and managed the NIL 411 Slack community and helped organize educational NIL summits designed to support student-athletes.
Earlier in his career, Ahmad worked as a marketing manager at Meta, where he managed global marketing automation campaigns and led the development of an internal global sales hub impacting more than 1,000 sales professionals. He also collaborated with teams to analyze campaign data and improve marketing communications.
Ahmad previously served as Chief of Staff and Social Media Consultant at Gather, where he supported digital media initiatives and worked with clients including IBM and MetLife on social media strategies and sports marketing campaigns.
Ahmad earned his undergraduate degree in management information systems from the University of Oklahoma. He later completed a master’s degree in sport management from Northern Illinois University and a doctorate in sport management from the University of Northern Colorado.
Outside of work, Ahmad enjoys traveling, cooking, dining out, working out and creating social media content.
