Cobe Wastler serves as the Director of Digital Strategy for Oklahoma Athletics. In this role, he leads social media and digital strategy efforts for Oklahoma men’s basketball while also assisting with volleyball social media during the offseason. Wastler additionally contributes to email marketing and website updates across the athletics department.
Before joining Oklahoma, Wastler served as Director of Digital Strategy at the United States Air Force Academy from October 2023 through December 2025. In that role, he oversaw digital media efforts for the athletics department and managed content for multiple sports including football, hockey, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball and wrestling. He also contributed to photography efforts and oversaw the department’s internship program.
Prior to his time at Air Force, Wastler worked at the University of Wyoming, beginning as a digital media intern before becoming Assistant Director of Digital Media and Communications. During his time with the Cowboys, he served as the communications and digital media contact for men’s golf, women’s golf and wrestling while also supporting women’s basketball, women’s soccer and volleyball. He also contributed as part of the department’s photography team and helped oversee the internship program.
Wastler earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Wyoming. His work has earned national recognition, including two top-10 finishes in the College Sports Communicators Photo of the Year contest and selection to the CSC 30 Under 30 class of 2025.
