2008 Big 12 Football Champions
OU defeated Missouri, 62-21, on December 6, 2008, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to claim the school's third consecutive Big 12 Conference title and sixth crown in the past nine seasons. No other Big 12 team has more than two.

Conference Championships
In addition to 26 national championships, the University of Oklahoma has amassed 232 conference titles. The Sooner football team won the school's first conference crown, a Southwest Conference championship, in 1915. It marked the first season ever in a conference for the sport.
 
Since 1915, OU has claimed 42 conference titles in football, including an unprecedented three consecutive Big 12 crowns and six of the past nine. No other Big 12 team has more than two.
 
Track & Field claimed a national title in 1918 and since that time, men's tennis (30 titles), baseball (25), wrestling (21) men's basketball (20), men's gymnastics (17)  and men's golf (16) have all displayed eras of dominance in conference play.
