Oklahoma has totaled nine of its 14 victories on the season in three-set sweeps, which includes wins over Western Michigan, Air Force, North Dakota State, Duquesne, SMU, Arkansas-Little Rock, New Mexico, then-No. 11 Kansas State and TCU.

There was a span of five matches that the Sooners posted three-set sweeps of their opponents from Sept. 14 against SMU through Sept. 19 against then-No. 11 Kansas State.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Freshman setter Julia Doyle was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week on Monday, Oct. 8 after she totaled back-to-back double-double performances. Against the Shockers, Doyle accumulated 44 assists and 12 digs to mark the fifth 40-plus assist performance of her freshman campaign, and added a pair of block assists and two kills in the Sooners' efforts. In Saturday's matchup against TCU, Doyle notched 30 assists and 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season and second in as many matches.

KEY TO SUCCESS

The Sooners have maintained a steady blocking game in each of their matches this year, claiming 13 of their 43 wins when they lead their opponents in blocks. On the year, OU has set three new team match records in block assists.

In a three-set sweep versus No. 11 Kansas State, the team totaled 22 block assists; in four sets the Sooners totaled 30 to overcome No. 19 Kentucky, and in a five-set victory over Tulsa the team posted 41 block assists to completely rewrite the Oklahoma record books just five weeks into the 2012 season.

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma volleyball team (14-5, 3-1 Big 12) returns home to McCasland Field House this week in a two-match home stand that features No. 21 Kansas and Baylor on Wednesday and Friday night, respectively. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. CT for each match.

Chad McKee and Brandon Files will call the action from Wednesday's match against the Jayhawks, which will air live on FS Southwest in conjunction with Sooner Sports TV powered by FOX Sports. For a channel listing and complete TV programming schedule, please click here

The 21st-ranked Jayhawks mark the fifth ranked opponent of the season for the Sooners, who have taken the court against previously-ranked No. 1 Nebraska, No. 9 Texas, No. 11 Kansas State, No. 19 Kentucky and No. 24 Colorado State. On the year, Oklahoma is 2-3 against ranked opponents with a pair of wins over then-No. 19 Kentucky, and then-No. 11 Kansas State.

The Sooners return to the court after a 1-1 finish last week with a loss in its last non-conference match of the regular season to Wichita State on Wednesday and a win over TCU on Saturday.

Oklahoma notched its ninth sweep of the season when it toppled TCU in three (25-20, 25-20, 25-23). Senior outside hitter Morgan Reynolds led the Sooners offensively with 12 kills, while junior middle blocker Sallie McLaurin notched six total blocks to lead the team in blocks for the fourteenth time this season. Offensively, McLaurin also contributed nine kills off of 16 attempts with no errors to record her sixth .500-or-better hitting performance of the season.

Following the team's efforts last week, freshman setter Julia Doyle was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week on Monday, Oct. 8, after she totaled back-to-back double-double performances.

Kansas travels to Norman in the midst of its most historic season in program history with a 4-0 start in Big 12 Conference play, and currently on a five-match win streak. KU is just one of two unbeaten teams in the Big 12 alongside No. 9 Texas. As a team, Kansas leads the Big 12 in three separate categories: kills (14.33 per set), assists (13.45 per set) and digs (15.96).

The Sooners lead the overall series 44-30, dating back to the team's first meeting back in 1976, including a 23-11 edge in Norman. Oklahoma has claimed six of the last 10 meetings, including a series sweep last season, which saw the Crimson and Cream recover from a 2-0 deficit and take each victory in five.

Baylor has dropped each of its conference matches on the year with a 0-4 tally in Big 12 action and 13-6 overall record. Despite their record, the Bears have faced a tough stretch with four consecutive ranked opponents, including then-No. 19 Iowa State, No. 9 Texas, then-No. 15 Kansas State and then-No. 24 Kansas. Before its five-match skid, Baylor had claimed nine-straight wins from Sept. 2 through Sept. 15, and took home 13 of its 15 matches with losses to then-No. 6 Hawai'i and North Texas.

Oklahoma leads the series against Baylor, 31-15, including an 18-4 advantage in Norman. The Sooners and Bears split the series last year, with a Bears victory in their last meeting on Nov. 12, 2011.
