         <description><![CDATA[The Oklahoma volleyball team closed out its spring season after playing in three tournaments over the course of the semester.The squad opened the spring at the Wichita St. Tournament where it dropped matches to Kansas State (14-25, 21-25, 18-25, 16-25, 10-15) and Wichita State (25-19, 19-25, 18-25, 26-28, 12-15).The Sooners followed that with the Texas Tornados Tournament in Houston as they notched victories over West Point (25-17, 23-25, 5-15) and Texas State (16-25, 25-22, 17-15) while also dropping a close match to Notre Dame (25-27, 25-19, 13-15). The Sooners also faced reigning national champion Penn State (14-25, 6-25) as well as New Mexico State (17-25, 16-25, 17-25).]]></description>

Ace club members, parents, supporting fans and staff celebrated with the team and coaches at the Kerr-McGee Stadium Club inside the Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The banquet included a highlight video that strung together all of Oklahoma's accomplishments while also recognizing each player and their individual accolades and highlights throughout the season.          <description><![CDATA[Oklahoma volleyball player Sarah Weiland was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association on Wednesday as she was named to the All-Central Region honorable mention squad. It marks the second honor for Weiland this season as the right side hitter was also an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection. Weiland was one of 15 Big 12 players selected to the Central Region squads. It also marks the second consecutive year the Sooners have had at least one representative on the Central Region squad. Weiland, one of only two starters returning this season, led the Sooners to a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament this season.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The No. 23 Oklahoma volleyball team went down with a fight, but ended its season in Gainesville, Fla., Friday night as the Sooners fell to the 13th-seeded Florida Gators, 3-0 (30-24, 30-24, 36-34) in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. Oklahoma ends its season with a 22-10 overall record and its second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. It marked only the second time in school history that an Oklahoma volleyball team recorded back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament. The only other time was the 1987 and 1988 season. The Sooners also finished fourth in the Big 12 Conference after being picked to finish ninth in the preseason. Florida (29-2) advanced to the Regionals which will begin Dec. 7-8. "I couldn't be more proud of our seniors and the way this entire team has played all season," head coach Santiago Restrepo said. "The last game showed how hard we have fought all season and I'm so proud of them for not giving up. They exceeded everyone's expectations this season."]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The Oklahoma volleyball became the first team in the country to advance to the NCAA Second Round as it beat Florida A&M, 3-1 (30-25, 32-30, 29-31, 30-14), in opening-round action Thursday night in the Gainesville Sub-Regional. The win advanced OU to the second round against the winner of the Florida vs. College of Charleston match which was set for Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. (CST). OU's second round match will begin at 6 p.m. (CST) on Friday with the winner advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 next week, which will also be held in Gainesville. Oklahoma and Florida A&M kicked off the NCAA Tournament as it was the first match played in the 64-team field with the Gainesville Sub-Regional beginning first round action on Thursday and all other sub-regionals opening on Friday.]]></description>
