Sooners finish the fall season at the Memphis Invitational.

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma women's tennis finished the fall season with a championship win by Whitney Ritchie at the Memphis Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
"Our level of play and competitiveness was much better today and that was reflected in our results going 7-2," OU Head Coach David Mullins said. "Overall, I am very happy with how our fall season played out and the progress that we made."
In the Black Draw, Whitney Ritchie and Hermon Brhane were rearranged to avoid playing each other in the championship game. OU junior Ritchie defeated Memphis' Caroline Wegner, 6-3, 6-3. OU junior Brhane defeated Memphis' Liza Tymchenko, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
In the White Draw, OU junior Mia Lancaster defeated Tulsa's Maria Sant'Anna, 6-4, 6-3, to win the consolation final. OU sophomore Abbi Melrose fell to Tulsa's Carol Benito, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
In the Gray Draw, OU freshman Zita Engbroks defeated Tulsa's Reneta Kuricova, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3, to win the consolation final. OU junior Whitney Wofford fell to Purdue's Krisztina Kapitany, 6-0, 7-5, in the winner's consolation match.
In doubles play OU duo Whitney Ritchie and Hermon Brhane defeated Purdue's Mara Schmidt and Krisztina Kapitany, 8-3.
Tandem Mia Lancaster and Abbi Melrose fell to Mississippi's Iris Verboven and Mariya Milutinovic, 9-8. Whitney Wofford and Zita Engbroks defeated Mississippi's Paige Keating and Allie Robbins, 8-1.
