OU women's tennis will compete in the Memphis Invitational this weekend.

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team will compete in the Memphis Invitational this weekend, Nov. 2-4 in Memphis, Tenn.
Singles play begins Friday. In the white draw, Abbi Melrose will compete against Purdue’s Mara Schmidt and Mia Lancaster will compete against Vanderbilt’s Ashleigh Antal.
In the gray draw, freshman Zita Engbroks will begin play against Purdue’s Krisztina Kapitany. Whitney Wofford will also compete against Tulsa’s Carol Benito.
In the black draw, Whitney Ritchie and Hermon Brhane will face Vanderbilt’s Courtney Colton and Marie Casares, respectively.
The Sooners begin doubles play at 6:30 p.m. on Friday against Memphis and again at 7:30 p.m. against Tulsa.
“This is the first year that we have competed at the Memphis Invitational. It was a very strong event last year and there looks to be an even stronger field this time around,” said Head Coach David Mullins. “We still have much to accomplish before our fall season comes to a close, but I am happy with the progress we are making and I am confident we will continue that progress into the spring.”
