Anda Perianu Goes 1-1 At Riviera/ITA All-American ChampionshipsOct. 8, 2002
NORMAN, Okla. - OU junior Anda Perianu (Braila, Romania) reached the second round of the qualifying singles draw before losing in three sets at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., on Tuesday. Perianu defeated Kentucky's Nathalie Roels in three sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-4) before falling to ninth-seeded Christina Fusano of California (6-4, 5-7, 6-2). The loss eliminated Perianu from tournament play. OU is scheduled to compete at the ITA Regional Championships in Tulsa, Okla., on Oct. 23-27.
