NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women’s tennis team captured three singles victories in the final rounds of its season openers Sunday in Austin, Texas, and Little Rock, Ark.

The Sooners captured two wins against Texas Tech players at the Country Club of Little Rock Invitational. OU junior Whitney Ritchie defeated Sandra Dynka 6-1, 6-2, and transfer Herome Brhane capped her first weekend as a Sooner with a 6-1, 6-2, victory over Sofya Malysheva. Junior Mia Lancaster battled to a third set with Kenna Kilgo, but fell 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

Rain forced the cancellation of the doubles finals at the Country Club of Little Rock Invitational.

At the University of Texas Invitational, junior Whitney Wofford bested West Virginia's Hailey Barrett, 6-1, 2-6, 1-0, in the consolation singles final.

The Sooners return to action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America Championships at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
