NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma women’s tennis went a combined 2-1 at the University of Texas Invitational and 5-4 Saturday at the Country Club of Little Rock Invitational in Little Rock, Ark.

Freshman Emma Devine recovered from a doubles loss by defeating Iris Verboven (Mississippi) 6-3, 6-4. Hermone Brhane also pulled out a singles win against Marija Milutinovic (Mississippi), 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Freshman Zita Engbroks defeated Paige Keating (OM), 6-2, 6-1, before beating Caroline Starck/Elizabeth Ullathorne (Texas Tech), 8-5, with doubles partner Mia Lancaster. Doubles duo, Abbi Melrose and Hermone Brhane (OU) defeated Sandra Dynka/Sofya Malysheva (Texas Tech), 8-3.

Junior Whitney Wofford and sophomore Jane Pinkston competed in the consolation bracket at the University of Texas Invitational. Wofford won two consolation matches, beating Irinka Toidze (WVU), 6-4, 6-4, before dropping Ikktesh Chahal (WVU), 7-6, 5-7, 1-0. Pinkston fell to Leah Fried (Rice), 6-2, 6-1.
