Four Sooners Earn Academic Honors

OU had four represented on the 2012 Academic All-Big 12 team, including two first teamers.

NORMAN, Okla. – Four members of the University of Oklahoma women’s tennis team were named to the 2012 Academic All-Big 12 teams, announced by the conference Tuesday.

Seniors Marie-Pier Huet and Peta Maree Lancaster earned first team honors, while sophomores Mia Lancaster and Whitney Ritchie were named to the second team.

Huet was named to the first team for the third straight year, while the other three honorees made the list for the first time.

The 46th ranked Oklahoma women’s tennis team will open the 2012 Big 12 Championship at the No. 7 seed on Thursday, April 26 against 10-seeded Kansas at 10 a.m., at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.
