Oklahoma hosts No. 28 Tulsa and No. 37 Arkansas this weekend.

NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 41 Oklahoma women’s tennis team hosts a two-match weekend at Headington Family Tennis Center. The Sooners face No. 28 Tulsa On Saturday, Feb. 16 at 12 p.m., and No. 37 Arkansas on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 12 p.m.
“This is the biggest weekend of our non-conference schedule, and we are fortunate that it occurs on our home courts.” OU head coach David Mullins said. “We have had some great matches with Tulsa and Arkansas through the years, and we are looking forward to a couple hard fought battles this weekend.”
Oklahoma (3-2) moved up two spots to No. 41 in this week’s ITA rankings, and Hermon Brhane jumped 12 spots to No. 87 in singles. The doubles teams of Brhane/Whitney Ritchie and Emma Devine/Mia Lancaster improved to Nos. 36 and 59, respectively.
Brhane and Ritchie have won three straight doubles matches to start the season.
Tulsa (4-2) will see its third straight Big 12 opponent in Norman Saturday. Tulsa fell to then-No. 60 Kansas State, 4-3, on Feb. 9 and defeated Kansas, 5-2, on Feb. 10.
Arkansas (4-3) heads to Norman for its eighth-straight road match of the season. The Razorbacks are coming off back-to-back losses against then-No. 24 Yale, 4-3, on Feb. 3 and then-No. 42 Oklahoma State, 4-3, on Feb. 10.
“I believe all three teams are very evenly matched but I am hopeful that we can take advantage of being at home for the third straight weekend.” Mullins added.
