Women's Tennis Visits Miami for ITA Kick-Off

No. 44 Oklahoma plays No. 35 Arizona State Friday at 1 p.m.

NORMAN, Okla. - The 44th-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team (1-0) plays its first road match of the season Friday in Miami, Fla., as part of the 2013 ITA Kick-Off Weekend. OU will face Arizona State on Friday at 1 p.m. at Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

The 2013 ITA Kick-Off Weekend is held at 15 different campuses across the country. The winner from each host site will advance to Charlottesville, Va., Feb. 8-11 for the ITA National Indoor Finals.

Featured in the Miami competition of Kick-Off Weekend are ninth-ranked Miami, No. 35 Arizona State, and No. 56 University of Hawaii.

Oklahoma is No. 3 seed in the Miami bracket. OU will play either top-seeded Miami or No. 4 seed Hawaii on Saturday in the consolation or qualifying match based on Friday's results.

The Sooners enter the tournament after capturing a 5-2 victory over Wichita State Saturday, Jan. 19, in Norman.
