NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 28 University of Oklahoma women’s tennis team lost to No. 39 Texas, 6-1, Friday, March 15, at Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin, Texas.

“We got down on ourselves very quickly and showed a real lack of toughness throughout the day,” OU head coach David Mullins said.

Oklahoma (8-4) fell behind early after losing the doubles point to the Longhorns to give UT a 1-0 lead heading into singles.

The Sooners only point of the match came at the No. 6 spot after Juliana Gajic retired against Emma Devine.

“Our struggles have really been evident on the road this year and we need to speed up the learning process as to how we are going to play better away from home.” Mullins added.

Oklahoma is 2-3 on the road this season and continues its road trip on Sunday, March 17, in Lubbock, Texas to face Texas Tech at 1 p.m.
