OU hosts Butler C.C. at 5 p.m.

NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma softball team continues its fall schedule tonight with a contest against Butler Community College. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. at Marita Hynes Field.
The Sooners kicked the fall season off two weeks ago with a 5-0 sweep of its annual Fall Festival. Oklahoma outscored its opponents 47-2, including three shutouts. Collectively, OU had a .456 batting average, .525 on-base percentage and .676 slugging percentage, while its pitching staff yielded no earned runs and struck out 51 batters in 30 innings of play.
Leading the way offensively was junior Brittany Williams, who had a team-best .727 batting average, to go along with three doubles, two home runs and 11 runs batted in.
In the circle, seniors Keilani Ricketts and Michelle Gascoigne each pitched over 10 innings on the weekend and recorded at least 20 strikeouts.
Located in El Dorado, Kan., Butler Community College has won six Jayhawk Conference titles since 2001, including each of the last two seasons. In addition, the Grizzlies have won four of the last six Region VI Championships, including 2011 and 2012.
