OU opens up its seventh trip the Women's College World Series in championship's first game.

NORMAN, Okla. — Oklahoma’s seventh trip to the Women’s College World Series will begin Thursday at 12 p.m. the NCAA announced Sunday. The Sooners (50-8) will take on South Florida (50-12) in the WCWS’ opening game at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.NCAA.com/WCWS or by phone at (866) 208-0048. Single-session tickets will be available for purchase beginning Monday at 10 a.m. CST.
Thursday’s game will be aired on ESPN2 as the ESPN family of networks will air every single game of the 2012 WCWS. Oklahoma and South Florida have met five times with USF holding a 3-2 edge. The Sooners have won the last two matchups, both in 2003.
Oklahoma advanced to the WCWS with a two-game sweep of Arizona in its NCAA Super Regional after sweeping all three opponents in its NCAA Regional. OU has outscored its five postseason opponents by a combined score of 45-5.
