NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Softball program and the University of Oklahoma Women’s Softball Diamond Club will host the annual Meet the Team Banquet on Friday, Feb. 1. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7 p.m.

Head coach Patty Gasso will give a preview of the season, while a silent auction and player autographs also highlight the evening.

The event gives fans a chance to meet the 2013 Oklahoma Softball team before it opens its season on Feb. 8 at the Kajikawa Classic in Arizona.

The Sooners are coming off their seventh appearance in the Women’s College World Series and return the majority of the 2012 squad including USA Softball Player of the Year Keilani Ricketts and fellow All-Americans Lauren Chamberlain and Jessica Shults.

The banquet at the Oklahoma Memorial Union in Norman is open to the public and tickets are $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. Tickets for the event need to be purchased by Wednesday, Jan. 25.

The University of Oklahoma Women’s Softball Diamond Club is the official sponsor of the event and fans will be able to sign up to join the Diamond Club at the event with a minimum donation.
