SEATTLE - Shawna Wright hit a three-run home run and Danielle Lawrie struck out a season-high 17 batters as third-seeded Washington eliminated Oklahoma from the 2010 NCAA Championship Friday evening with a 4-0 win. The Huskies (50-7) won 3-0 to force a third and deciding game earlier in the evening. Oklahoma ends the year 47-12.

It was the first time Oklahoma dropped back-to-back games since March 19. It was also the first time this season OU was shutout in back-to-back games.

The Sooners were plagued by four defensive errors. A first inning throwing error allowed Jenn Salling to reach and score on the Wright home run. A fifth-inning fielding error plated pinch runner Amanda Fitzsimmons.

Haley Nix went 2-for-3 with a single and a double and Amber Flores reached base via three walks. Chana’e Jones, Krystle Huey and Brianna Turang added the other hits for the Sooners. Keilani Ricketts allowed four runs, two of them earned, on five hits and three walks. Ricketts struck out eight.

Lawrie kept OU off the board for a second consecutive game, allowing five hits and four walks.

Jessica Shults and Ricketts managed the only two hits off Lawrie in the opener. Flores drew two walks and was hit by a pitch. Lawrie struck out 10 and allowed four walks.

Ricketts allowed three earned runs, two of those scoring on a double by Taylor Smith. She struck out five and walked one. Hooch Fagaly added the other RBI on a groundout.

Ricketts ended her stellar freshman season with a 1.24 earned run average and 346 strikeouts, 10 shy of the Oklahoma single season record held by Jill Most. The Sooners graduate two seniors in Flores and Lindsey Vandever.
