FULLERTON, Calif. - After six scoreless innings, Oklahoma junior Dani Dobbs delivered a two-RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to propel the 11th-ranked Sooners (25-6) past Virginia, 2-0, on Saturday morning. Freshman Keilani Ricketts pitched two innings in relief to move to 15-5 on the year.
 
The Cavaliers (13-11) stranded four runners, including three in scoring position. UVA got one hit against Oklahoma starter Kirsten Allen, a third inning single to left by Alison Pittman. Virginia starter Melanie Mitchell allowed four hits and two unearned runs. She struck out seven and walked one.

Oklahoma got a 2-for-3 performance from senior Amber Flores. Sophomore Evan Sallis and Dobbs added OU's only other hits. After stranding three base runners in the first six innings, OU got a break in the seventh when freshman Jessica Shults reached on a fielding error. Senior Lindsey Vandever then walked and pinch runner Chana'e Jones moved to second.

Dobbs then came through with a one-out two-RBI double to right center to plate Jones and Vandever.

Allen went 5.0 innings, struck out three, allowed the one hit and walked two. Ricketts had one strikeout in her 2.0 innings pitched.

The Sooners return to action Tuesday afternoon at Tulsa. First pitch from is set for 6 p.m. OU travels to Arkansas for a 5 p.m. CT game against the Razorbacks.
