Holding a one-run lead in the bottom of the sixth, the No. 1 Oklahoma softball team put up four runs to give itself a cushion en route to a 10-5 win over Arkansas on Saturday afternoon in the Norman Regional.

No. 1 overall seed Oklahoma takes on Marist at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in the NCAA Regionals in Norman, while Fordham and Arkansas kick things off at 5 p.m. All the games will be carried by ESPN3.

Six Sooners Named All-Region

Six members of the No. 1 Oklahoma softball team have been named to the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-Central Region Team. The six honorees tie a school record set in 2005 and matched in 2007.

Patty Gasso was named Big 12 Coach of the Year for the second year in a row on Tuesday, while senior Keilani Ricketts took home Pitcher of the Year honors and sophomore Shelby Pendley was chosen as Player of the Year.
