The freshman novice eight “A” boat finished in a close second behind Texas. The novice were led by coxswain Carly Schueler, Elizabeth Blanche (stroke), Heather House (7), Nicole Bladow (6), Courtney Gilberg (5), Chloe Troutt (4), Morgan Whinery (3), Paige Gero (2) and Kelsey O’Grady (bow).
"As we move through the fall season, the varsity squad is beginning to gain a stronger appreciation for the level of commitment required to be competitive,” head coach Leeanne Crain said.”The novices had a good day, finishing less than a second behind Texas. We've got some good height and overall athleticism in the freshman class. They are just learning the sport, but there is a lot of raw talent in the group."
Oklahoma’s next regatta is the Head of the Hooch in Tennessee, Nov. 7.
