Throughout the 2010 season, SoonerSports.com provides an inside look into OU rowing. This week senior first varsity eight member Chelsea Moore is on the hot seat.
Favorite moment on the water...
So far, it would be the moment that the varsity four boat won our race in the first annual Big 12 Championships. The moment we crossed the finish line and saw that we were first, everyone was so excited but could hardly speak because we pushed so hard.
Interests outside of rowing...
Biking, running in local races, swimming, playing sand volleyball, traveling and napping.
Person that most shaped my life...
My mom. She gives me advice to make those life decisions that I hate making. She has also been supportive as a mother, but also as a friend.
What is your favorite thing to do in Norman?
Just being in Norman on home football game days.

Fortunate, Ambitious, and Independent
Name one thing that fans don't know about you...
I played three instruments until I got to college, then I focused on athletics.
Why did you choose OU?
Initially, I chose OU because it was a great university, close to home. After three years of rowing on the OU club team, the Women's Varsity Program was established. At that point, I was so thankful that I was at one of the best athletic programs in the nation.
What are your plans after college?
I want to work in athletics in some way. I love the dedication that it takes for any athlete to perform in their sport, and I want to somehow contribute to that in my profession.
What's your nickname? Reasoning behind it?
C-Mo. I went my entire life without a nickname (other than Chels or Chel), but Assistant Coach Marina started calling me this last semester and it has stuck so far.
Favorite aspect of OU Rowing team...
My favorite aspect of the team is the potential. Since we are a new program, we have something to prove in every race. We have all the tools to become a national competitor; it's just a matter of time before the athletes are created.

What's your favorite TV show?
The Housewives of Orange County.
Favorite book?
I haven't really read for pleasure since entering college. But I did enjoy reading Divorce Your Car in one of my environmental classes to get ideas of how to use less and simplify my life.
Favorite restaurant?
Taco Cabana
If you could invite three people to dinner, who would they be?
Elvis, Oprah and Johnny Depp (with eyeliner)
Most cherished childhood memory?
When my dad bought me a swing set for my birthday. Best. Day. Ever.
What do you picture yourself doing 10 years from now?
I see myself living somewhere warm and near water with a husband, two kids, a medium sized home with a basketball goal, a Prius and a double rowing shell for my hubby and I.
