OU Gymnastics Fall Update

Senior Brie Olson gets the scoop on fall practice.

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Sooners have been hard at work this fall preparing for the upcoming season. Senior Brie Olson caught up with senior Lauren Smith, sophomore Erica Brewer and freshman Maile'ana Kanewa to get the scoop on the team's fall practices.

Next week, Coach K.J. Kindler and the Sooners will announce their newest signing class on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Oklahoma will also host an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Dec. 8.

The defending Big 12 champions will open the 2013 regular season on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 4 p.m. against Georgia in Athens, Ga.

OU's first home meet is set for Friday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. CT against Denver. Coming off its fourth Big 12 Championship in the last five years in 2012, the Sooner women's squad will host four regular season meets this year, competing against Denver (Jan. 18), UCLA (Feb. 22), Arizona (March 8) and Stanford and North Carolina (March 10). Oklahoma has advanced to the NCAA Championships each of the past nine years, finishing in the top 10 in the nation each of the past six years under Kindler.

Season tickets are now on sale starting at $15. Single-meet tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 8 a.m. Tickets are available online or by calling (800) 456-GoOU.
