NORMAN, Okla. -- Seven Oklahoma women's gymnasts earned National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches All-American Scholar Athlete Awards, the NACGC announced Monday.

Candace Cindell - 3.54 (Journalism), Megan Ferguson - 3.88 (Broadcasting & Electronic Media) and Natalie Ratcliff – 4.00 (Early Childhood Education) earned the honor for the third-straight season.

Sophomores Kayla Nowak - 3.57 (Accounting) and Nitya Ramaswami – 3.76 (Chemical Engineering) made the list for the second consecutive year while redshirt-sophomore Natasha Kelley – 3.78 (Communication) and Bethany Neubauer - 3.79 (Interdisciplinary Studies) rounded out OU’s honorees.

Ratcliff was the only gymnast in the Big 12 conference and one of 70 gymnasts nationally with a 4.0 GPA.

This year marks the fifth-straight year that the Sooners have had at least five gymnasts earn the All-American Scholar Athlete award.

Earlier this year, OU led the Big 12 conference with five first team Academic All-Big 12 selections.

In Kindler’s five seasons with OU, 31 Sooner gymnasts have made the NACGC Scholar Athlete list.

To qualify for NACGC All-American Scholar Athlete honors, gymnasts must attain a GPA of 3.5 or better.
