The No. 13 ranking marks the program’s highest ranking in the history of the attendance poll.  OU’s previous-best finish was No. 18 in 2011 with an average home attendance of 1,622.

The Sooners’ 2012 average attendance is also a program-best.  Prior to this season OU’s highest season average attendance was 1,631 set in 2010.

OU’s average home attendance has nearly quadrupled in K.J. Kindler's six seasons as head coach.  In 2006 before Kindler’s hire, OU ranked 45th nationally in home attendance with an average of 546.

Utah finished in first in the 2012 attendance race with an average home crowd of 14,352 while Alabama came in second with a 12,826 average.

The Sooners finished higher than any other Big 12 team.  Iowa State came in at No. 21 with crowds of 1,494 while Missouri was No. 22 at 1,322.

During OU's home meets of 2012, OU won the Big 12 Championship on March 24 and upset back-to-back national champion Alabama during OU's Senior Night on March 2.

OU finished the season in seventh place in the country after failing to qualify for the NCAA Super Six national championship by just .200 points at the NCAA Championship.

The Sooner gymnasts earned seven All-America distinctions while senior Megan Ferguson was the NCAA Runner-Up on beam during individual event finals at NCAA Championships.  Junior Brie Olson finished in fourth place on bars at event finals, while Senior Sara Stone placed seventh on beam.
