NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnasts team swept the Big 12 weekly awards with Brie Olson named Gymnast of the Week, Maile'ana Kanewa named Specialist of the Week and Keeley Kmieciak named Newcomer of the Week.

Olson picked up her third Gymnast of the Week award this season and sixth career weekly recognition while Kmieciak nabbed her third newcomer honor. This is the first recognition for Kanewa.

Olson totaled the highest all-around score of any gymnast in the nation this season and tied an Oklahoma program record with a 39.700 against No. 5 UCLA. The senior scored career highs on beam (9.9) and floor (9.95), and tied for the vault title against the Bruins on the way to her third individual all-around title this season. The senior bested the country's current top-ranked all-arounder for the win. Olson is now ranked No. 4 in the nation in the all-around.

In her first collegiate routine after recovering from wrist surgery, Kanewa scored a 9.925 on vault to tie for the event title and give the Sooners an early emotional boost on their way to defeating No. 5 UCLA. Kanewa's score helped OU to its highest team vault score in 10 years with a 49.525.

Kmieciak broke an OU freshman record and earned the highest all-around score of any freshman in the country with a 39.650 against No. 5 UCLA. Kmieciak set personal bests in the all-around and all four events, with each score coming in at 9.9 or above.

OU has swept the awards five times in the last six weeks and six times overall, earning 22 of 24 weekly honors this season.

The Sooners will next face TWU in Denton, Texas, on Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m. CT. Live video and results will be available on TWUAthletics.com.
