Ferguson named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week after posting a 9.9 or higher in five of her six routines last weekend.

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma women's gymnast Megan Ferguson was named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for Feb. 7, announced by the conference Tuesday.
Ferguson earned the award after winning five of six event titles in OU's two competitions over the weekend with five scores of 9.9 or higher.
Ferguson tied her career-high on floor with a 9.95 to win the event title in OU's upset over No. 2 Arkansas Sunday, Feb. 5. Ferguson also won the bar title with a 9.9 and the beam title with a season-high 9.925 against the Razorbacks.
The senior won both the bar and beam titles on Friday during OU's quad meet with a 9.925 on bars and a 9.9 on beam.
Ferguson is currently ranked No. 4 nationally on beam and No. 11 on both bars and floor.
Ferguson has posted a 9.9 or higher in eight of her last 12 routines and has scored a 9.8 or higher in 17 of her 18 routines this season.
An OU gymnast has been named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week for five straight weeks, tying OU's own record for most consecutive event specialist of the week awards in one season.
Ferguson and the Sooners will compete at the Perfect 10 Challenge hosted by Bart Conner Gymnastics, Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m., at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., alongside Iowa State and Southeast Missouri State.
