NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women’s golf team carded a 297 in Saturday’s second round of the 18-team Liz Murphey Fall Preview in Athens, Ga., to move into seventh place with a 36-hole 596 (+20).

Oklahoma entered the day tied for 10th place. It is in front of six top-30 opponents in one of the most competitive tournaments of the season. No. 13 Auburn leads the event by five strokes over second-place Alabama. The Sooners are just four shots out of fourth place.

“We played better today,” OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “We got off to a good start and gave up a few shots coming in. We have one more round left to move up the leaderboard. We’re really close and need to keep it simple and make a ton of pars."

OU junior Anne-Catherine Tanguay shot a team-best 72 Saturday to move into a tie for 22nd place with a 36-hole 147 (+3).

Fellow junior Emily Collins carded a 1-over 73 in the second round of the tournament, moving up one spot into a team-best tie for 10th place.

Tennessee transfer Kaitlyn Rohrback carded a second-round 75 (+3). The junior stands in a tie for 40th place with a 36-hole score of 151 (+7).

Senior Taylor Schmidt and junior Chirapat Jao-Javanil each scored a 5-over 77. Schmidt moved into a tie for 59th place and Jao-Javanil stands in a tie for 66th place.

The Liz Murphey Fall Preview concludes Sunday morning with the Sooners teeing off at 7 CT. Live stats are available at www.golfstat.com.
