NORMAN, Okla. -- Sooner fans, help your neighbors in need by bringing your spare cold-weather clothing and accessories to one of four upcoming University of Oklahoma athletics events.
OU's chapter of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) has organized the Warmer for Winter Clothing Drive. Donated items will be given to Norman's Food and Shelter for Friends, Inc., for dispersal to needy families in Cleveland County.
Starting Friday with the OU men's basketball's game versus Northwestern State at the Lloyd Noble Center, fans are encouraged to deliver the items listed below to donation boxes located outside arena entrances. Collection begins when doors open and ends 30 minutes after the starting time for each event.
Items in need include:
Coats and Jackets
Gloves
Scarves
Earmuffs/Ear Warmers
Beanies
Long Sleeve T-Shirts
Hoodies
Jeans
Socks
The Warmer for Winter Clothing Drive will occur at the following events:

Food and Shelter for Friends, Inc., has provided food, housing and emergency services to people in crises for nearly 30 years. Food and Shelter serves the community's most indigent residents, many of whom live on no income or are extremely below the poverty line relying on disability income.
SAAC is a student organization comprised of representatives from each varsity sport program at the University of Oklahoma. It is the mission of SAAC to represent OU student-athletes in a way that: upholds the traditions of the University of Oklahoma, promotes leadership and communication, and enhances involvement in the campus community.
