NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione and Head Women's Basketball Coach Sherri Coale announced the Sooners' non-conference schedule Tuesday.

Oklahoma begins its 39th season of women's basketball with 14 games, including two exhibitions, before the Big 12 Conference calendar (to be announced at a later date) starts in January.

"Certainly, with 10 of our 14 pre-conference games inside the Lloyd Noble Center, our fans will have many opportunities to watch us develop," Coale, who begins her 17th season as the Sooners' head coach, said. "Yet, this schedule also replicates some of the challenges we will face during the merciless Big 12 schedule and what awaits during the NCAA Tournament in March. There is a nice balance that will test our core group of veterans and initiate our highly-skilled underclassmen to the college game. I'm excited for the road ahead."

The Sooners boast the return of their starting lineup and comebacks of two upperclassmen -- Lyndsey Cloman and Jasmine Hartman -- who missed the entire 2011-12 season due to injuries. OU also introduces newcomers Portia Durrett, a junior college All-American, Nicole Kornet, a WBCA All-America Game MVP, and Maddie Manning, the Gatorade Player of the Year in Iowa.

OU hosts Oklahoma Christian Thursday, Nov. 1, and Henderson State Tuesday, Nov. 6, for exhibition contests at the Lloyd Noble Center. Both games tip off at 7 p.m. Central.

The Sooners open the 2012-13 regular season in Omaha, Neb., against Creighton on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Creighton Bluejays lost just one player to graduation from its NCAA tournament team that battled St. John's to the final seconds in a 69-67 loss at the Lloyd Noble Center last March.

OU makes its regular season home debut in Norman Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. versus UCLA.

Oklahoma battles Saint Louis Sunday, Nov. 18, in Norman and celebrates Thanksgiving weekend in Honolulu with three games in three days against Arkansas, Oregon and Hawaii in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown Nov. 23-25.

OU returns to the Lloyd Noble Center to finish the non-conference slate with six straight home games. The Sooners host Northwestern (La.) State on Nov. 29, Marist on Dec. 2, North Texas on Dec. 6, Vanderbilt on Dec. 16, UC Riverside on Dec. 20 and return from winter break with Cal State Northridge on Dec. 29.

Ticket sales and television and radio broadcast schedules will be announced at a later date. For ticket information, visit SoonerSports.com or call the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 456-GoOU.

The Sooners get an early jump on basketball this season when they leave Tuesday for a 10-day tour of Australia. During the trip, OU will play four games against teams from the nation's premier women's basketball league, the WNBL.
