NATIONALLY-RANKED OFFENSE
Oklahoma displays one of the nation’s most productive offenses. The Sooners rank in the NCAA’s top 25 in scoring (12th), margin of victory (22nd), field goal percentage (15th), 3-point field goals per game (11th) and 3-point field goal percentage (sixth).

Most notable is the Sooners' 3-point shooting proficiency. With 8.2 makes per game, Oklahoma is on pace to reach its team record (251 made in 2010-11) by the end of the regular season.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULING
Oklahoma’s strength of schedule is 28th in the Massey Ratings yet faces its first ranked opponent of the season Tuesday against Iowa State. That is the strongest schedule for a team that has not played against a ranked opponent at the date of the matchup. The next highest strength of schedule for a team that has not yet faced a ranked opponent is Dartmouth at No. 80.

Oklahoma allows only 28.4 points per first half (scoring defense is 59.8 points per game), holding opponents to 34.2 percent field goal shooting (26.5 percent from 3-point range), while scoring 35.1 points.

The Sooners have held opponents to 25 or fewer first-half points in seven games and 30 or fewer in 10 games. In OU’s two losses, UCLA and Vanderbilt both scored 37 first-half points.

OU is 10-0 when leading at halftime and 4-2 when trailing.

DEFENSE POSTURE
Of Oklahoma ’s 14 wins, 13 have a common thread -- the Sooner defense held its opponent to 40 percent or lower field goal shooting. The Sooners won at TCU 85-79 when the Horned Frogs shot 44.6 percent.

In OU’s victories, opponents have averaged 33.0 percent from the field. In OU’s two losses, UCLA and Vanderbilt, they’ve made 43.5 percent of their shots.

ROAD RUNNERS
Oklahoma has played just four true road games in 2012-13, but averages an 15.0-point margin of victory. The Sooners defeated Creighton in Omaha, 68-49, Hawaii in Honolulu, 74-49, Texas in Austin, 78-70, and TCU in Fort Worth, 95-79.

Oklahoma’s margin of victory away from the Lloyd Noble Center is even higher. The Sooners are 6-0 in away or neutral games with an average margin of victory of 17.0 points.

BOARD GAMES
Joanna McFarland averaged 2.0 points, 4.0 rebounds (2-8 FG) before being benched after three games in favor of freshman Maddie Manning. In 13 games since, McFarland averages 9.5 points and 10.0 rebounds (started last seven games). She has nine or more rebounds in 11 of those 13 games, and double-digit rebounds in seven of the last eight games, including a career-high 26 versus Texas Tech on Jan. 12.

Since returning to the starting lineup in the last seven games, McFarland averages 11.7 points and 10.9 rebounds.

EASY AS 1, 2, 3
Junior guard Aaryn Ellenberg is one of the nation’s top 3-point shooters, and is using the shot most effectively at this point of her career. Ellenberg leads the Big 12 in 3-point field goals per game (3.6) and 3-point field goal shooting (.468),and ranks third and 12th, respectively, in the NCAA in those categories.

Nearly 54 percent of Ellenberg’s attempts come from 3-point range, a 12 percent raise over the 42 percent she shot as a sophomore. Ellenberg took 46 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc when she set Oklahoma’s single-season record for 3-pointers (94) as a freshman.

Despite the additional attempts from deep range, Ellenberg’s 3-point percentage is 10 percent better than last year, .468 to .368.
