NORMAN, Okla. -- Aaryn Ellenberg scored 24 points and junior college transfer Portia Durrett had her first double-double with the Sooners as No. 18 Oklahoma finished its pre-conference schedule with a 79-57 victory over Cal State Northridge.

Ellenberg was 5-of-9 from 3-point range as the Sooners made 43 percent of their field goals, including 12 of 28 beyond the arc.

Durrett totaled 14 points and 10 rebounds, hitting six of her seven field goal attempts, including a perfect 2-for-2 effort from beyond the arc.

"The play was an extension of the way that we practiced over the break," OU head coach Sherri Coale said. "I was really proud of the way they came back on the 26th. They were ready to go. A lot of retention from things we talked about before the break, a lot of concentration -- that showed today. I thought we adhered to the gameplay extremely well."

Nicole Griffin added 11 points and Sharane Campbell, back in the starting lineup, totaled 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.

OU gained a 10-point advantage in the early action and the Matadors switched to a two-man press to slow the Sooners' attack, forcing the Sooners into a season-high 20 turnovers.

Cal State Northridge closed to 16-14 with 9:47 remaining in the first half, but could not defend the depth of Oklahoma's offense as five Sooners contributed to finish the half with a 37-24 advantage.

The Sooners held Cal State Northridge's starting five to just 27 of its 57 points.

Janae Sharpe and Jianni Jackson each scored 12 for the Matadors, who were coming off a 77-72 victory over UCLA in Los Angeles.

"It gives us as individuals and as a team a lot more confidence," Ellenberg said. "They beat UCLA, who we lost to. To come out here and beat them by that much, it gives you a lot of confidence to know that even thought we lost people, we are still collectively together a good enough team to win games."

Oklahoma used all 10 on its active roster as Tara Dunn and Eden Williams, OU volleyball players who were added to the women's basketball roster on Dec. 26 to help its depth, appeared in their first game. The Sooners have lost four players to season- or career-ending injuries, including preseason All-Big 12 member Whitney Hand.

"All the way down to Eden and Tara coming in and fight for rebounds and diving for loose balls, it was awesome," Coale added. "Again, all of that is an extension of practice. Sharane played really hard. Jas [Jasmine Hartman] played hard. You can go all the way down the roster. I thought the effort was complete from top to bottom."

OU hosts West Virginia in the Mountaineers' first game as a Big 12 Conference member Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m.
