In the CP3 vs. CP3 battle (Courtney Paris and Candace Parker), its was each team's respective CP3 that scored the first points of their team. Paris scored OU's first seven points and Parker scored UT's first eight. OU freshman Danielle Robinson broke the Sooners' scoring streak with a fast break layup to put the Sooners up 9-4. Vicki Baugh ended the Lady Vols' streak with a layup in the middle of the first half.
Cnadace Parker scored two for OU when she and a teammate fought for the rebound on a Courtney Paris free throw and inadvertently knocked the ball back through the hoop.
The Sooners youth was tested early as Ashley and Courtney Paris entered early foul trouble.
