All four previous meetings between Oklahoma and Notre Dame have been at neutral sites and the margin of victory has been 10 points or less in every meeting.  The series is tied 2-2 and has gone to overtime twice with each team winning one.

No. 3 seeds were 32-32 all-time in the regional semifinal round before Oklahoma beat 2-seed Notre Dame Sunday night.  No. 3s are 11-21 in regional finals and have won the national championship just twice in six appearances.  The Sooners are 2-0 all-time in regional finals, having advanced from the Elite Eight to the Final Four in 2002 and 2009.
