NORMAN, Okla. -- With its All-American point guard in foul trouble, Whitney Hand scored 23 points and Aaryn Ellenberg added 21 to lead No. 14 Oklahoma to its largest win ever against Texas Saturday at the Lloyd Noble Center.

A season-high crowd of 10,230 in attendance for Pack the Place Pink Night, promoting breast cancer awareness, witnessed the Sooners rebound from their worst defeat since 1978 to provide one of its best all-around victories of the year.

"Well our game plan was very simple," OU head coach Sherri Coale said, "It was basket cut, put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. Then once we began to hit a few perimeter shots the driving lanes got even wider."

The Sooners did that and then some, establishing a defensive effort that forced Texas into 25 turnovers while allowing just 17 field goals.

OU's senior point guard Danielle Robinson collected three quick fouls and spent only eight minutes on the court in the first half. The Sooners' guard rotation stepped up in her absence with Jasmine Hartman exploiting a sagging Longhorns' defense.

"We got really good shots during that period of time and normally we don’t when Danielle goes out of the game," Hand said. "I think that Jasmine really changed the flow of the game. She made them pay for not guarding her. It made everything else so easy to play around because she was so attack-oriented."

Danielle Robinson recovered from three first-half fouls to score 12 points and freshman center Nicole Griffin, making her third straight start, matched her collegiate best with 11.

Senior Kathleen Nash and freshman Chassidy Fussell scored 17 apiece for Texas, which fell into a tie for fifth in the Big 12 standings after Texas Tech's upset of No. 1 Baylor earlier in the afternoon.
