NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma fans have the opportunity to meet the 2010-11 wrestling squad and staff at the annual “New Wrestlers Picnic,” Friday, August 20, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public and the cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under.

Head coach Jack Spates and his wife Barby will be hosting the barbeque at their home in Norman at 1829 Marian Drive. All returning Sooners, including All-Americans Tyler Caldwell and Zack Bailey, will be in attendance along with the rest of the 2009-10 squad, which earned fifth place at the NCAA Championships. Also in attendance will be the 2010 recruiting class and coaching staff.

"We are very excited to kick off the new season after finishing fifth at NCAAs last season,” head coach Jack Spates said. “We hope Sooner fans come out and meet this talented group of wrestlers. Our program appreciates the support from our fans and we look forward to a great evening."

In addition to meeting the squad and staff, there will be OU wrestling shirts, hats, bags and shorts available for purchase.
