AS A FRESHMAN (2008-09):
One of four true freshmen starting for Wisconsin...starter at 174 lbs....went 9-15 overall, 5-9 in duals and 1-7 in Big Ten duals...scored 15 dual points on the season...defeated his first ranked opponent when he upset No. 12 Trevor Perry from Indiana, 8-5...went 8-3 while wrestling unattached...finished second at the Stevens Point Open

Two-time Minnesota state-champion...finished fourth at state his freshman year and third his sophomore year...2006 Cadet Freestyle All-American...finished first at 2008 Junior Greco-Roman National Championships and fourth in the freestyle competition... compiled a 181-12 record over four years at New Prague High School...a part of state championship team his senior year...two-time Academic All-State...winner of Minnesota State Tournament Outstanding Wrestler Award in 2008...ranked No. 12 at 171 lbs. in the InterMat Final All-Class High School Rankings of the 2007-08 school year
