NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team advanced seven singles players and three doubles teams at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, after the first day of play Friday, Nov. 2.

In the Singles A round of 16, Costin Paval beat Texas' Nick Naumann 7-6, 3-6, 6-2. Dane Webb beat Texas' Lloyd Glasspool 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. Axel Alvarez Llamas beat Texas' Jacoby Lewis 6-1, 6-1. Guillermo Alcorta topped Texas' Sudanwa Sitaram 4-6, 7-6, 7-5. Peerakit Siributwong defeated Texas' Andrew Korinek 6-3, 6-2.

John Harrison Warden and Nick Papac competed in the Singles B round of 16. Warden defeated Texas' Chris Camillone after a withdrawal. Papac beat Texas' Alex Hilliard 6-7, 6-1, 7-5.

In the Singles A round of 32, Webb defeated Ball State's Cliff Morrison 6-2, 6-4. Alvarez Llamas beat TCU's Nick Chappell 6-3, 7-5. Siributwong topped Princeton's Zach McCourt 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Papac defeated Princeton's Dan Richardson 6-3, 6-4, in the Singles B Draw first round.

In the doubles Round of 16, the All-American duo of Paval and Webb defeated Texas' Jacoby Lewis and Dusanwa Sitaram 8-5. ITA Central Region doubles champions Alcorta and Llamas beat TCU's Facundo Lugones and J.T. Sundling 9-7. Siributwong and Stakhovsky defeated Ball State's Dalton Albertin and Ray Leonard 8-4.

In doubles play, Papac and Warden defeated Marquette's Logan Collins and Cam Tehrani 8-3. Alcorta and Alvarez Llamas beat Princeton's Augie Bloom and Matt Spindler. Siributwong and Stakhovsky defeated St. Edward's Maximo Agoglia and Adrian Garza 8-4.

The Longhorn Invitational continues Saturday, Nov. 3. In the Singles A quarterfinals Paval faces Texas' David Holiner, Webb plays Texas' Soren Hess-Olesen, Alvarez Llamas faces Alcorta and Siributwong plays Princeton's Matija Pecotic. In the Singles B quarterfinals, Warden faces Ball State's Austin Smith and Papac plays Texas' Ben Chen.
