The ITA All-American Championships tournament begins on Saturday.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Nine Sooners travel to Tulsa, Okla., for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships. The tournament starts Saturday, Sept. 29, and hosts championship matches Sunday, Oct. 7.
Lawrence Formentera, Nick Papac, Ryan Proctor and John Warden begin Saturday in the singles pre-qualifying rounds. Axel Alvarez Llamas, ITA No. 57 Peerakit Siributwong, Leonard Stakhovsky and No. 97 Dane Webb begin Monday, Oct. 1, in the singles qualifying rounds.
The tandems of Webb and Alvarez Llamas and Siributwong and Stakhovsky will also compete in the qualifying rounds in doubles that take place Tuesday, Oct. 2.
No. 28 Guillermo Alcorta takes the court in the main draw Thursday, Oct. 4. Alcorta automatically qualified for the main draw after finishing his 2011-12 campaign ranked No. 2 in the Central Region.
OU freshmen Stakhovsky, third, and Alvarez Llamas, seventh, are ranked on the ITA’s 10-member preseason freshman/newcomer team.
Alvarez Llamas had the best performance of the Sooners at their season opening tournament, advancing through four qualifying rounds to the main draw of the USA F25 Futures Tournament in Costa Mesa, Calif.
