NORMAN, Okla. -- Sooners Costin Paval and Dane Webb were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with the announcement of their 2012 All-America Teams for NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Thursday.

Paval was recognized for both singles and doubles play along with partner Dane Webb.

The junior from Bucharest, Romania, went 16-3 in singles play in the spring and was voted the Big 12 Player of the Year after leading the Sooners to an undefeated conference season and sweep of the Big 12 regular season and tournament championships.

Paval finished the year 15th in the ITA's Men's Singles Rankings.

Paval is OU's second All-American in singles, following Oliver Lorin, who was named to the All-America team in consecutive seasons in 1987 and 1988.

Paval and Webb finished 2012 ranked fifth nationally and teamed for a 17-4 doubles record. The duo reached the NCAA National Championship Semifinals before falling in three sets to the eventual title winners.

Webb, a freshman from Richardson, Texas, was previously honored as the ITA's Rookie of the Year.
