Sooners Face Pepperdine in Malibu

NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 10 University of Oklahoma men’s tennis team finishes its spring break road trip at No. 11 Pepperdine Saturday, March 23, at 3 p.m. CT in Malibu, Calif.

The Sooners (11-4) enter the match against the Waves (13-4) after a 6-1 win over No. 55 Arizona Wednesday, March 20 in Tucson, Ariz. 

Pepperdine enters the match after winning two matches Wednesday at home. In the first match against conference-foe Loyola Marymount, the Waves won 4-3. They then beat No. 43 Princeton 5-2.

Pepperdine boasts four ITA ranked singles players. Sebastian Fanselow leads the pack at No. 11. He is followed by No. 53 Francis Alcantara, No. 83 Finn Tearney and No. 107 Alex Sarkissian. Pepperdine also has one ranked doubles team, No. 47 Alcantara and Tearney.

OU has three ranked singles players: No. 17 Costin Paval, No. 44 Guillermo Alcorta and No. 92 Dane Webb. Paval and Webb pair as the No. 44 doubles team, and Alcorta teams with Axel Alvarez Llamas at No. 56.

The Sooners return home Thursday, March 28, for a match against No. 38 San Diego at 5:30 p.m.
