NORMAN, Okla. -- The No. 6 University of Oklahoma men’s tennis team returns home to face No. 26 Florida State Tuesday, March 12, at 5:30 p.m. after a one-month road stretch.

“Florida State is always a good team and they are coming off a solid win against Texas,” OU head coach John Roddick said. “I expect this to be a very tough match.”

The seven-match road stretch that began Friday, Feb. 15 at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships ended with a 6-1 win over No. 41 Louisville Friday, March 8.

“I know our guys are looking forward to playing at home for the first time in a month,” Roddick said.

The Seminoles (11-3) enter the match with one ranked singles player, No. 89 Dominic Cotrone.

The Sooners (10-3) have two ranked singles players, No. 39 Costin Paval and No. 61 Guillermo Alcorta. OU also has two ranked doubles tandems, No. 42 Alcorta and Axel Alvarez Llamas, and No. 52 Paval and Dane Webb.

The Sooners were last at home when they beat Tulsa, 5-1, Friday, Feb. 8.

“I can’t wait to return home,” Paval said. “It’s not something you should really be attached to, but when you get in that environment, you’re just glad you have it.”

After the home match against Florida State, the Sooners hit the road again for spring break road matches against No. 61 Arizona and No. 12 Pepperdine.
