No. 8 Oklahoma takes on No. 30 Memphis Saturday at 2 p.m.

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team hosts Harvard, Notre Dame and Memphis in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend tournament Saturday, Jan. 26, and Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Gregg Wadley Indoor Tennis Pavilion. OU is one of 15 host sites for the ITA's Kick-Off Weekend.
"We are very excited to be hosting this weekend," OU head coach John Roddick said. "It is a great opportunity for our players to play in a big event at home. We are looking forward to showing other teams around the country our great facility and having a great weekend of tennis."
The No. 8 Sooners (1-0) enter the tournament after sweeping the Wichita State Shockers, 7-0, Tuesday, Jan. 22. The Sooners boast three ranked singles players, with Guillermo Alcorta leading the pack at No. 36.
OU also has three doubles teams ranked, with the Sooners' tandem of Costin Paval and Dane Webb ranked No. 12.
All three of the visiting teams are ranked in the ITA top 40. Harvard (0-0) is ranked No. 28. Memphis (1-0), ranked No. 30, is coming off a 6-1 win over Michigan State at home. Memphis also brings two ranked singles players, No. 64 Joe Salisbury at 64th and No. 70 Johnny Grimal.
No. 31 Notre Dame (2-1) swept Marquette and Western Illinois early this season, before losing a match to No. 41 Northwestern, 4-3. Notre Dame brings four ranked singles players, with Greg Andrews, the reigning Big East Player of the Year, leading the way at No. 80. Andrews also places in the doubles rankings, falling at No. 51 with partner Spencer Talmadge.
The first match of the weekend between Harvard and Notre Dame is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26. OU faces Memphis at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Jan. 27, there will be a consolation match at 9 a.m. and a championship match at 12 p.m.
