NORMAN, Okla. – The 26th-ranked Oklahoma men’s tennis team won its fourth straight Bedlam battle Wednesday night after the Sooners routed Oklahoma State, 6-1, at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
“We played well,” John Roddick said. “I got onto the guys after the doubles a little bit because I didn’t like our intensity in warm-ups and we kind of got away with one in the doubles. Then we came out in the singles and played very well. All-in-All it was a good day at the end and a big win.”
The Sooners (12-4, 2-1 Big 12) led, 1-0, after taking the No. 3 and 1 doubles positions and continued its momentum into the singles portion where OU took five-out-of-six matches.
OU’s Laurentiu Gavrila and Lawrence Formentera teamed up at the No. 3 spot to rout OSU’s Rifat Biktyakov and Tomas Patiño, 8-3.
