FT. WORTH, Texas - The 25th-ranked Oklahoma men's tennis team swept No. 64 TCU, 7-0, on Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

"We did a really good job in doubles finishing it up at No. 1," John Roddick said. "They competed really hard and remained composed while they were holding serve. The way we finished doubles gave us good momentum going into singles."

Oklahoma (9-3, 0-0 Big 12) controlled action from the beginning of doubles action where OU won all but one match to take the early, 1-0, advantage.

In doubles, OU's 68th-ranked Tsvetan Mihov and Peerakit Siributwong teamed up at the No. 2 position to run past TCU's Paul Chappell and Daniel Stevens, 8-3.

TCU's Nick Chappell and Will Stein evened the doubles score after the duo defeated OU's Lawrence Formentera and David Pultr, 8-3.

Eighteenth-ranked Costin Paval and Dane Webb finished off the Horned Frogs' Daniel Sanchez and Max Stevens at the No. 1 position, 9-7, to claim the point for Oklahoma.

Oklahoma continued its dominating performance in singles action where the Sooners won all six matches, three in straight sets, to run away with the dual victory.

"Costin played really, really well at one and we played well at the other positions to get the shutout, which is really nice," Roddick said.

Paval, ranked No. 15 nationally, got the Sooners started with a 6-1, 6-2, win over Texas Christian's Nick Chappell at the No. 1 position.

OU's freshman sensation Webb, ranked No. 78, notched the second victory at the No. 5 spot over TCU's Stevens, 6-4, 6-3.

Siributwong clinched the match for OU after he downed TCU's Stein, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 4 position.

Oklahoma extended its streak after Guillermo Alcorta earned a three set win over the Horned Frogs' Sanchez at No. 3. The Spain native took the first set, 6-4, but dropped set No. 2, 6-2. Alcorta took the final set, 1-0(9), to earn the win.

Mihov had similar results at the No. 2 spot. The nation's 103rd-ranked singles player dropped the first set, 7-6, but took the second, 6-4, and went on to take the final set, 1-0(8).

Like his counterparts, OU's Pultr also went three sets after dropping his first to TCU's Paul Chappell, 7-6. Pultr came back to take the second set, 6-3, and the third set, 1-0 (2).

Oklahoma's road stent continues as the Sooners travel to No. 27 Tulsa on Tuesday, March 27, to take on their in-state foe at 5 p.m.

"We are looking forward to a tough match with Tulsa on Tuesday," Roddick added. "They are a good team again this year and we have to be mentally ready to play hard."
