NORMAN, Okla. – The 35th-ranked Oklahoma men’s tennis team defeated No. 41 Louisville, 6-1, Monday at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Oklahoma (6-2, 0-0 Big 12) swept doubles to take the early 1-0 lead, before winning three singles matches in straight-sets to clinch the victory.

Tsvetan Mihov and Peerakit Siributwong, ranked 45th nationally in doubles, took OU’s first doubles win after dominating Sebastian Stiefelmeyer and Albert Wagner of Louisville at the No. 2 spot, 8-1.

OU’s 10th-ranked doubles pair, Costin Paval and Dane Webb, clinched the doubles point for the Sooners with a 8-3 over Louisville’s Andrew Carter and Amuary Derognat at the No. 1 position.

Guillermo Alcorta and David Pultr edged out Robert Hall and Michael Lippens of Louisville in the tiebreaker to finish the doubles sweep, 8-7 (3).

Siributwong increased OU’s lead to 2-0 after winning the first singles match of the night at the No. 5 spot over Lousville’s Chris Simich, 6-1, 6-3.

Paval won OU’s third dual point at the No. 1 spot with a win over Stiefelmeyer, 6-3, 6-2, before Pultr clinched the win for the Sooners by beating Luis Elizondo at the No. 6 position, 6-3, 6-2.

With the match already decided, Louisville won its first dual point at the No. 3 spot as Wagner defeated OU’s Mihov, 7-6 (6), 6-2.

The Sooners extended their lead to 5-1, with Webb’s win over Louisville’s Lippens in the super tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (8).

OU ended the match with another win at the No. 2 spot as Alcorta defeated Andrew Carter of Louisville, 6-2, 6-2.

Next up, Roddick's squad travels to Virginia on Friday, March 16 at 5 p.m.
