STANFORD, Calif. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis squad (2-1) fell to No. 9 Stanford 7-0, Saturday, at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium. 

Despite an impressive, 6-1, win over No. 44 San Diego State, Friday, the loss to Stanford means OU will not get an automatic invite to participate in the National Team Indoor Championships, Feb. 12-15 in Charlottesville, Va.  

The Cardinals took an early lead on the Sooners and did not look back. 

In doubles action OU's No. 1 doubles team, comprised of David Pultr and Ionut Beleleu, fell to Stanford's Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher (No. 1 nationally), 8-2.

The Cardinals clinched the doubles point after Sooner's Lawrence Formentera and Costin Paval fell to Stanford's Dennis Lin and Matt Kandath, 8-3.

The Sooners looked to turn the tide in singles action. However, OU fell short of grabbing a point.

At the No. 1 position senior Andrei Daescu (No. 10) fell to Stanford's Klahn (No. 54), 6-2, 7-6. 

Beleleu (No. 59) manned the No. 2 position for the Sooners. He lost to the Cardinal's Clayton (No. 37) 6-3, 7-5. 

Next up for the Sooners is a regional matchup against No. 54 Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 12.
