NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma men’s and women’s gymnastics and soccer teams are teaming up with United Way’s Teen Advisors of Norman to STUFF THE BUS and collect school supplies on Saturday, July 24th.
The volunteers will be stuffing the bus from 9a.m. to 1p.m. on the south side of the Sooner Mall parking lot. It will be a fun event for the entire family, including face painting, games and activities and a free book giveaway.
Each of the teams will be available for a meet and greet and autographs signing.
The Rotary Interact Clubs of Norman North and Norman High will also be in attendance at the STUFF THE BUS in an effort to raise money and collect school supplies for Norman’s less fortunate children. The goal is to collect enough supplies to serve 425 children.
According to the United Way, every year in Cleveland County, hundreds of children begin school without the necessary supplies because their families can't afford them.
Donated school supplies will be distributed through the United Way of Norman’s annual ABC School Supply program. This program serves low to moderate income families in Norman, Noble, Little Axe, Lexington and Robin Hill school districts. In 2009, the ABC program assisted 836 children with the necessary supplies to begin school ready to learn.

Sooner Mall is located on W. Main St., west of I-35 in Norman.
