NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma men's golf team, No. 44 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, will conclude the fall portion of its season at the 15-team, three-round Royal Oaks Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 29-30) at the 7,068-yard, par-71 Royal Oak Country Club in Dallas, Texas.
The Sooners enter the sixth annual event, co-hosted by Baylor and SMU, with top-10 finishes in each of their three previous fall tournaments. The Sooners earned a season-best share of second place at the Mason Rudolph Championship with a 2-over 854 in Tennessee in late September.
OU's lineup will feature senior Abraham Ancer, freshman Beau Titsworth, junior Michael Schoolcraft, sophomore Michael Gellerman and junior Eduardo Castiello.
Titsworth, who holds a team-low 72.89 scoring average this season, has participated in all three of OU's team events and has earned a team-best finish in two of them.
Schoolcraft and Ancer are the only other golfers to be featured in OU's lineup in every team event this season. Schoolcraft has posted a 73.22 average with a season-best third-place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship. Ancer, who owns a career 72.49 scoring, good for second all-time at OU, has recorded a 74.33 average through nine rounds this season.
Gellerman has seen action at all three team events, but competed as an individual at the Mason Rudolph Championship, earning a season-best share of 10th place. Gellerman heads to Dallas with a 74.78 average on the fall.
Senior Will Kropp will compete in the event as an individual. Kropp, who was named a PING All-American last season after a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, has competed in one event for the Sooners this season, earning a share of 32nd at the Mason Rudolph with a 7-over 220.
OU faces an elite field in Dallas, with eight of the other 14 teams ranked in the Golfweek top 50. The field includes No. 5 New Mexico, No. 6 SMU, No. 16 Oklahoma State, No. 17 Missouri, No. 24 North Carolina, No. 30 Tulsa, No. 33 Texas A&M, No. 41 Texas Tech, Augusta State, Baylor, Iowa, Lamar and Ohio State.
The teams will start Monday at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and play 36 holes. The event will conclude with a final round Tuesday. Live stats will be available at www.golfstat.com.
