NORMAN, Okla. -- After the rainy first round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas, Nev., the 26th-ranked University of Oklahoma men's golf team sits in 12th place, 13 strokes behind leader and No. 1-ranked California. The prestigious tournament features some of the nation's top squads and is played at the Southern Highlands Golf Club, a 7,510-yard, par-72 course.

OU's first-round 298 (+10) came against an elite 15-team field with all teams ranked in the Golfweek/Sagarin top 50, including 11 of the top 13 squads. A rain delay briefly suspended play during the round.

Senior Abraham Ancer and junior Michael Schoolcraft finished the day tied for 19th place after each carded a first-round 73 (+1). Schoolcraft recorded five birdies in the round, while Ancer registered three.

After a 3-over-par performance, Beau Titsworth sits in a tie for 40th place. The Sooners began the day on hole 10, and the freshman shot a birdie on hole 11 before adding four bogeys.

Senior Will Kropp recorded a first-round 77 (+5), and junior Eduardo Castiello finished the day at 10 over par.

Saturday's second round of the tournament is slated to start at 10 a.m. CT with OU's tee times beginning at 10:27 a.m. from hole No. 10. The Sooners will be paired with No. 8 Duke and Big 12 foe Oklahoma State (ranked No. 16). Live scorning will be available at GolfStat.com.
